Niwot bookstore’s first Drag Story Hour succeeds amid protest

RODNEY SMITH >> What are the odds some of these protesters attend a Catholic church? Wonder how many of the protesters voted for a presidential candidate who bragged about sexual assault? They’re slime. Hell, they’re beneath slime. Whatever they’re protesting is almost certainly going to be good for society. Keep it up, Niwot.

WILLIAM CROOK >> Good. Maybe if someone reads to them, the kids won’t turn out as stupid and hateful as the parents.

EVAN CONROY >> Their sign is right. It’s not a safe space for children. These protesters may start shooting any second.

RICK ACCOUNTIUS >> There are better ways to teach acceptance and tolerance.

CAMILLE ACCOUNTIUS >> It is clear from this article that the purpose of these events is not to teach tolerance but to indoctrinate little kids into alternative lifestyles. It talks about teaching kids how to disrupt the classroom rather than behave to learn their lessons. It seems that kids have enough on their plate today, with stressed out parents and social media access on steroids, that to take them to an event specifically designed to disrupt their world view is reckless and possibly harmful.

St. Nix toy store closes, may relocate in near future

AUGIE LUEVANO >> IMO, this place was an overpriced reseller. Nothing special, exclusive, or limited. Sorry you went bust but your business strategy was flawed from the jump.

JOE LIPPIS >> A blank, postdated check and please wait a week to deposit? No red flags there! How old are these owners to be so gullible?

DIANA PRINCE >> There is something off about this whole story.

NICK PRESTON >> A $56,000 check should be your first red flag.

ERIN SHANLEY >> A lot of heartless comments on this thread. A mistake was made by the owner in trusting someone. It must be amazing for you all to be perfect and never have screwed up in your lives

ELKE DRAGOS >> So sorry to hear this, the owners are wonderful people. They didn’t deserve this!

JAMIE CLARK >> Well, that just sucks, can’t believe he’s getting away with it! I’m sorry this happened.

YOSHI DURAN >> Every small business in Colorado needs to learn from this. Don’t take checks, don’t take IOU’S and don’t take money orders. Especially blank checks like the article says the toy business did, which undermined their ability to recover the money or press charges.

ERIN SHANLEY >> A lot of heartless comments on this thread. A mistake was made by the owner in trusting someone. It must be amazing for you all to be perfect and never have screwed up in your lives

Colorado grocery stores can begin selling wine on Wednesday

CARLA GRATKOWSKI >> So more little local liquor stores won’t be in business or carry as much as before because the grocery stores can get better pricing than they can. I won’t support it
