The Community Foundation of Boulder County has announced it has selected 145 community partners to receive grant funding through its Community Trust this year. In total, the 2023 grantees will receive nearly $400,000 in funding.

The Community Trust is an endowed Community Foundation fund that “offers discretionary grants to community partners addressing pressing needs and seeking equitable outcomes in our community,” according to a news release.

A team of roughly 80 volunteers reviews grants and makes funding recommendations in the areas of animal care and welfare, arts and culture, civic engagement, education, the environment, and health and human services.

Health and human services recipients were awarded the largest share of funding this year with a total of $181,100. Some of these organizations include the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, El Centro Amistad, Boulder and Longmont’s Meals on Wheels programs and Naropa Community Counseling.

The foundation also awarded $84,800 for arts and culture, $42,400 for education, $34,000 for the environment, $26,975 for civic engagement and $19,270 for animal care and welfare. Organizations in Boulder, Longmont, Lafayette and Nederland were among those who received grant funding.

“We are lucky to have so many amazing partners working to make our community a place where all can thrive,” Tatiana Hernandez, CEO of Community Foundation Boulder County, stated in the release. “We’re grateful to work alongside them and strengthen their efforts for the benefit of our community.”
