Doncic scores 32, Mavericks extend winning streak

Luka Doncic scored 32 points, and the Dallas Mavericks matched their longest winning streak of the season at four games in a 146-111 rout of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday.

Kyrie Irving scored 25 points and Daniel Gafford had 19 points and nine rebounds in his Dallas debut alongside P.J. Washington (14 points) after both were acquired in trades before Thursday’s deadline.

Doncic, who sat the fourth quarter, had nine assists and eight rebounds as Dallas improved to 4-0 with Doncic and Irving in the lineup since Irving’s return from a sprained thumb.

Paul George scored 33 points and Kawhi Leonard added 24 as Los Angeles rallied in the fourth quarter and denied Detroit its first three-game win streak of the season.

George scored 15 points in the fourth, hitting backto-back 3-pointers that capped an 11-0 run and pushed the Clippers ahead to stay. James Harden finished with 14 points, eight assists and six rebounds.

Dennis Schroder had 15 points and 12 assists in his Brooklyn debut and Cam Thomas scored 25 points as the Nets spoiled Victor Wembanyama’s return to the arena where he was the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft.

Nic Claxton added 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Nets, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Ben Simmons scored 13 points on 6-for-7 shooting

Miles Bridges scored 25 points, newcomer Vasilije Micic added 18 points and nine assists and new-look Charlotte snapped a 10-game losing streak.

Micic joined Tre Mann (nine points, nine rebounds), Grant Williams (15 points, eight rebounds), Davis Bertans and Seth Curry in the Hornets’ rotation for the first time after Charlotte dealt mainstays P.J. Washington to Dallas and Gordon Hayward to Oklahoma City.

Franz Wagner scored 36 points, Cole Anthony had 14 points and 11 rebounds off the bench, and Orlando turned back Chicago.

Paolo Banchero had 19 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for Orlando. Jonathan Isaac finished with 12 rebounds, seven points and three blocks.

Tyrese Maxey scored 28 points, Buddy Hield added 23 and Philadelph­ia snapped a four-game losing streak.

Ricky Council IV added 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Sixers in their sixth consecutiv­e game without seventime All-star Joel Embiid, who underwent left knee surgery on Tuesday. Maxey also had nine rebounds and seven assists.

Jarrett Allen had 18 points and 15 rebounds, Evan Mobley added 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Cleveland extended its winning streak to a season-high nine games.

Donovan Mitchell scored 15 points and Max Strus had 14 as the surging Cavs won for the 22nd time in 26 games.
