Colorado County Clerks offer five scholarshi­ps

High school seniors can apply for Colorado County Clerks Associatio­n scholarshi­ps.

The Colorado County Clerks Associatio­n will grant three regional one-time awards of $1,000 and two regional awards for $500 for expenses at any university, college, junior college or technical institutio­n.

Selections will be based on: a completed applicatio­n; a minimum 3.25 GPA; participat­ion in extracurri­cular, community and service activities; and financial need/hardship.

Boulder County seeks museum volunteers

Boulder County Parks and

Open Space workers invite residents to volunteer at three county museums — the Altona Schoolhous­e, the Nederland Mining Museum and the James F. Bailey Assay Office Museum.

At the Altona schoolhous­e at 850 Lefthand Canyon Drive, in Boulder, volunteers can help visitors explore the school’s role in World War II, or discuss regional mining history.

Volunteers can share the schoolhous­e’s legacy with visitors and develop period-appropriat­e crafts and games. Applicatio­ns close on Monday, Feb. 26, with training sessions scheduled for late March or early April.

At the Nederland Mining Museum, N. 200 Bridge St., in Nederland, and the Assay Office Museum, 6352 Fourmile Canyon Drive, in Boulder, volunteers can interact with visitors and share historic mining stories. Applicatio­ns close on Thursday, March 28, with training to be held on Sunday, April 28.
