Dorothy Louise Mortenson

Dorothy Louise Mortenson passed away March 1, 2024. She was born on March 19, 1943 in Broomfield, Colorado to

Mary Ann Solomon and Frank Owen Miller. Dorothy grew up in Colorado and graduated from Alameda High School in Lakewood, Colorado. In 1965, she married Murl Skalla. Together they raised Stacie, Shamie and Sean. The family moved to California in 1974, where Dorothy met Clyde Mortenson. She blended her family with him and his two children, Patti and Greg, and married in 1976. While in California, Dorothy worked as a Forklift Driver and Quality Control Inspector at Nummi until she retired in 1997. Clyde and Dorothy moved to their dream home in Yerington, Nevada. She stayed there until 2020, when she moved to Firestone, Colorado to be closer to family.

Dorothy loved to garden, quilt and sew. She loved spending time with family and friends.

Dorothy is proceeded in death by her husband Clyde Mortenson and her parents. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Sean Skalla of Firestone, CO and Greg Mortenson of San Leandro, CA; daughters, Stacie Skalla-ekberg of Erie, CO, Shamie Skalla of Fremont, CA, and Patti Mortenson of San Leandro, CA; and brothers Frank Miller Jr (Toppy) and James Green. She is also survived by her grand-children Kayla Rand of Reno, NV, Jerald Zepponi of Erie, CO, Alex Skalla of Madison, WI, Kenny Skalla of Elko, NV, Lauren Skalla of Firestone, CO, Michael Moody of Mesa, AZ and Nicole Skalla or Denver, CO; and her great grand-children Aubree and Landon Rand of Reno, NV.
