Join the St. Vrain Valley Storytelle­rs for its next volunteer training and learn the art of oral storytelli­ng. Participan­ts will learn the tricks to becoming an amazing storytelle­r, receive ongoing training and support and have fun while making a positive impact on the community. “Sisters of Courage” showing: 6p.m. Monday, Erie Community Library, 400Powers St., Erie. “Sisters of Courage” follows one family through the turmoil of the last half of the 19th century. The Civil War, Westward Expansion, the Panic of 1893 are all wellknown historical events that take on new meaning with this story of their impact on a single family. Buffeted by the winds of national events, the family starts their life over yet again as the daughters both homesteade­d in a peaceful mountain valley. Walk with them from Denver as they chose to operate a dairy ranch to supply fresh milk to the expanding Grand Lake population. Pens, Prompts and Pizza teen writers’ group: 6 p.m. Tuesday, Library, 409Fourth Ave., Longmont. Spend some time putting pen to paper with writing-obsessed peers. Build worlds, refine original characters and create something great in a chill atmosphere. Once a month, the group will write from a prompt to get warmed up and then have free time to work on a piece of personal writing (and/or drawing for visual storytelle­rs). Pizza will be served.
