Tuesday at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick

On the mound: Righthande­r Dakota Hudson, utilizing his best offspeed stuff of the spring, pitched 42/3 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and striking out six. Hudson was around the zone throughout his start. … Walks haunted relievers Tyler Kinley, Jake Bird and Nick Mears as the Rockies squandered a 7-0 lead. Kinley, who had not been scored upon all spring, gave up three runs on three hits and two walks in onethird of an inning. Bird gave up two runs on two hits and two walks in two-thirds of an inning. And Mears coughed up three runs in the ninth on a home run to Chase Delauter.

At the plate: Veteran Charlie Blackmon continued his excellent spring, going 3-for-3 with three RBIS, including a solo homer in the fourth inning. It was Blackmon’s first homer of the Cactus League. He’s hitting .364with a .885OPS. … Second baseman Brendan Rodgers is hitting .400after going 1-for-3with a walk. Rodgers extended his hitting streak to seven games and has hit safely in 11of 13 games overall.

Prospect watch: No. 1 prospect Adael Amador, called up from minor league camp, went 1-for-2with a hard single. Amador will begin the season with Doublea Hartford.

Mariners 12, Rockies 3

Tuesday at Peoria Sports Complex

On the mound: Austin Gomber got rocked by the Mariners. The lefty starter was blasted for eight runs on 10 hits, including one home run, in just 22/3 innings. Gomber’s Cactus League ERA has soared to 15.26. … Lefty Ty Blach, hoping to make the club as a long reliever, gave up two runs on five hits over two innings. Blach has a 4.50

ERA. … Right-handed reliever Matt Carasiti, on the bubble to make the 26-man roster, pitched a scoreless inning and struck out one. He has not allowed a run through six spring appearance­s.

At the plate: Shortstop Ezequiel Tovar had two hits, including a double, against the Mariners. Tovar is hitting .324 with a .972 OPS. He’s doubled in three consecutiv­e games. … Elehuris Montero started at first base and went 2-for-3with a double and a run scored. After a mid-camp slump, he’s boosted his average to .267.

Prospect watch: Hunter Goodman filled in at catcher and hit a ninth-inning home run, his second homer of the spring.
