Stolen vehicle … Nafiz Abdul-Hamid, 19, of the 500 block of McKinley Street, Philadelph­ia, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. July 23 and charged with receiving stolen property and unauthoriz­ed use of a vehicle, police said. AbdulHamid was found in the lot at Home Depot, 2385 W. Cheltenham Ave., behind the wheel of a Toyota stolen July 21 in Philadelph­ia, police said.

Trespassin­g … A 16-year-old Cheltenham male was cited for trespassin­g at 6:26 a.m. July 23 when he was found in the backyard of a home in the 300 block of Beecher Avenue near the storage shed, police said.

Burglary … AWii, Xbox and PlayStatio­n game systems were taken during a burglary reported at 7:15 a.m. July 23 at a home in the 100 block of Myrtle Avenue, police said.

Attempted theft … An attempt to steal a Subaru Impreza parked in the unit block of Township Line Road was reported at 9:20 a.m. July 23, police said. The steering column was broken and the ignition wires spliced, police said.

Vandalism … The driver’s side mirror of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Bickley Road was found smashed at 4:10 p.m. July 23, police said.

Theft … China, mattresses, artwork and various other items were reportedly stolen July 23 by tenants who moved out of a residence in the 100 block of Rices Mill Road, police said.

Fraud … A resident reported July 23 that the victim had wired funds to a fraudulent company while attempting to sell a timeshare, police said.

Retail theft … Brady Parker, 44, of the 8000 block of Mansfield Avenue, Philadelph­ia, was cited for retail theft July 23 after taking $65,26 in goods from

Pathmark, 1000 S. Easton Road, around 5:20 p.m., police said.

Gun missing … A resident of the Coventry House Apartments in the 7300 block of Coventry Avenue reported July 23 that a Smith & Wesson .357 handgun was missing, police said.

Retail theft … A black male, mid-20s, 250 pounds, wearing a maroon basketball jersey with No. 15 on it, attempted to take an HP Pavilion computer from Walmart, 1000 S. Easton Road, around 1:40 p.m. July 24, police said. Security stopped the man and recovered the computer and the man fled, police said.

Theft … A wallet and various other items were taken from a handbag at Alvernia College, 1355 W. Cheltenham Ave., July 24, police said.

Vandalism … A resident of the 600 block of Boyer Road reported that around 9:30 p.m. July 24 a group of juveniles threw eggs at the victim’s home and then ran, police said.

Theft … Two 17- and 18-yearold Cheltenham males will be charged with theft after allegedly taking items from two 13- and 14-year-old males in the 500 block of Rices Mill Road around 3:15 p.m. July 25, police said. The older teens later returned the items, police said.

Fraud … A resident reported July 25 that after applying for a work from home position at AmerTechno­logy Co. in SanAntonio, Texas, the person received an email from a women who sent a $1,980 check with instructio­ns to deposit it and send the money back via Western Union, but the victim contacted the company and found no one by that name worked there, police said.

Retail theft … Anthony Bynum, 43, of 79th Avenue, Phila- delphia, was cited for retail theft at 10:23 a.m. July 26 after taking a $60 comforter from Burlington Coat Factory, 2385 W. Cheltenham­Ave., police said.

Fraud … An Elkins Park resident reported July 26 being involved in a fraudulent eBay sale of a vehicle which ended up in a $1,000 loss for the victim, police said.

Arrest … Marcellus Davis, 22, of East Church Road, Elkins Park, was charged with receiving stolen property, July 26 after he allegedly stole a firearm from a Philadelph­ia resident and contacted the owner and agreed to meet and return it, police said. He was taken into custody and the gun recovered, police said.

Bad check … A business owner in the 1000 block of South Easton Road reported July 26 that two different people had cashed four checks with her business from Walter Reed Entertainm­ent Inc. for a total of $558.50 which were returned for insufficie­nt funds, police said.

Retail theft … Two men attempted to steal five cases of Monster energy drink and two cases of Red Bull from Walmart, 1000 S. Easton Road, around 6 p.m. July 26, police said. The two were stopped in the parking lot and they abandoned the cart of beverages and fled in an older model maroon Buick, police said.

Retail theft … A black male, 6 feet 6 inches, with a gray beard, wearing a purple shirt and white slacks attempted to steal a bike from Target, 2450 Shoppers Lane, around 12:40 p.m. July 27, police said.

Theft … Sunglasses valued at $300 and $20 cash were reported stolen July 27 from a dresser drawer at a residence in the 1200 block of Church Road, police said.

Retail theft … Ronald Wilkins, 42, of the 1200 block of Lindley Avenue, Philadelph­ia, was cited for retail theft July 27 after taking $75 in goods from Walmart, 1000 S. Easton Road, around 7:50 p.m., police said.

Warrant … Matthew Washington, 38, of the 1900 block of Willow Street, was taken into custody at 8:30 p.m. July 27 at Willow Avenue and Cedar Lane on an outstandin­g Cheltenham warrant for a prior domestic assault charge, police said.

Bike stolen … An electric bike valued at $2,000 was reported stolen at 7:46 a.m. July 28 from Washington Lane and Cheltenham­Avenue, police said.

Burglary … Louis Vuitton handbags and designer sunglasses valued at $45,000 were taken during a burglary reported at 4:54 p.m. July 28 at an apartment in the 8400 block of Limekiln Pike, police said. There were no signs of forced entry, police said.

Retail theft … Brandon Johnson, 27, of the 100 block of Linden Avenue, North Hills, was cited for retail theft at 5:18 p.m. July 28 after taking $14 worth of goods from Walmart, 1000 S. Easton Road, police said. Johnson also had an outstandin­g Montgomery County warrant on him, police said.

Retail theft … Three juveniles stole three display cellphones valued at $1,530 from T-Mobile, 2385 W. Cheltenham Ave., around 6:45 p.m. July 28, police said.

Theft … A2001 Toyota Echo, PA license EJC6031, was reported stolen July 29 from the 7900 block of Old York Road, police said. The vehicle was last seen July 15, police said.

Possession … Shawn Odom, 32, of the 400 block of Oreland Mill Road, Oreland, was charged with possession of a controlled substance July 29 after he was stopped at Limekiln Pike and Evergreen Avenue at 2:17 p.m., police said. Officers observed suspicious activity in the parking lot of 1401 Cheltenham­Ave., and Odom was stopped and found to be in possession of cocaine, a pipe and prescripti­on medication­s, police said. tests, which he failed and a PBT revealed a 0.085 percent BAC, police said.

He was then transporte­d to Holy Redeemer Hospital for blood tests, which DUI charges are pending lab results, police said.

DUI… OnJuly29at­2:55a.m. police responded to the Philmont Country Club for a report of a disturbanc­e. Upon arrival, police stopped Anori Stetsko, 23, of the 7500 block of Rising Sun Avenue, Philadelph­ia, police said.

Upon speaking to Stetsko, police detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath, and his eyes were glassy and bloodshot, police said. Police also said his speech was slurred and thick tongued.

Police administer­ed field sobriety tests, which he failed, and a PBT revealed a 0.10 percent BAC, police said. He was transporte­d to Holy Redeemer Hospital for blood tests, which DUI charges are pending lab results, police said.

Disorderly conduct … On July 28 at 12:14 a.m. Abraham Kuruvilla, 47, of the 1200 block of Welsh Road, was cited for disorderly conduct after police found him moaning and yelling something unintellig­ible on the flRRU RI KLV EDFN SRUFK, SROLFH said. Bryn Athyn Ambulance arrived to tend to him, which administer­ed a PBT, which revealed a 0.129 percent BAC, police said. Police said he will be cited via mail for disorderly conduct, police said.

DUI … On July 26 at 11:23 p.m. police responded to a hitand-run in progress at Huntingdon Pike and Byberry Road. Dispatch reported that the vehicle leaving the scene was last seen traveling south on Huntingdon Pike, police said.

Abington police stopped the vehicle at Huntingdon Pike and Meadowbroo­k Drive, police said. While speaking to the driver, Glenn Leader, 38, of the 3100 block of Guilford Street, Philadelph­ia, police detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages on his breath police said. According to police, he was very lethargic, his eyes were glassy, his speech was slurred and was confused as to why he was being stopped.

Theft … On July 26 at 10:01 a.m. someone reported a theft of a backpack blower from the bed of his truck while it was parked in the 600 block of Byberry Road July 25 around 2 p.m. The blower was valued at $539.99.

Assault … On July 26 at 12:34 a.m. Halyna, 52, and Dmytro, 23, Tupitsyn were both charged with aggravated assault during a domestic argument at their home in the unit block of Simons Way, police said.

False identifica­tion … On July 25 at 2:30 p.m. police charged Artur Ustayev, 27, of the 10200 block of Dedaker Street, Philadelph­ia, for provided police with false informatio­n after being stopped for traffic violations, police said.

Burglary … On July 23 at 2:08 p.m. police responded to the 2200 block of Packard Avenue, for a burglary in progress.

According to the victim, she stated when she arrived home and retrieved her mail, she heard a loud thump coming from the rear of her home. Through the garage window, she observed a male running out the rear door of her home with her jewelry box, police said.

The man was described as a white man about 5 feet 8 to 10 inches tall, 25 to 30 years old with short, dark hair, clean shaven, dark eyes, medium build wearing a black shirt and light colored shorts. According to the victim, he ran past her toward a gray Saturn sedan and drove south on Packard Avenue, then east on Welsh Road, police said.

According to police, the man obtained entry through the rear door of the residence by force.
