The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew (BeverlyF Thomas Jr. of Elkins Park, Pa. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George (MaryF Akings of LaGrange, Ga.

The newlyweds took a trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The couple plans to reside in Philadelphia, Pa.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Chelten- ham High School and a 2005 graduate of Hampton rniversity where she earned a B.A. and a M.A. degree in communicative sciences and disorders. She is employed with Elwyn of Philadelphia as a speech language pathologist.

The bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of St. Joseph’s Preparatory School and a 2003 graduate of Hampton rniversity where he earned a B.S. degree in marketing. He is also a 2008 graduate of the Philadelphia College of lsteopathic Medicine where he earned a M.S. degree in organizational leadership and development. He is currently enrolled as a fulltime student at Rosemont College, pursuing another masters’ degree in school counseling.
