Frederick Weldon
Frederick A. Weldon, 59, of Ambler, died on July 28, 2012, at Abington Memorial Hospital. He was the son of Gertrude (Newman) Weldon and the late John W. Weldon. He was born in Abington, Pa., on July 4, 1953. He was a graduate of Wissahickon High School.
Freddie was employed by Acme Supermarkets, where he was a cashier and worked in various departments at the Ambler store for many years and in Germantown. He was a sports enthusiast, and was formerly involved with Ambler Junior Baseball.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by four sisters and two brothers, Maxine Sanders of Ambler, Patricia Stevens of Ambler, Constance Ford of Philadelphia, Olivia Jones of Philadelphia, John Weldon Jr. of Ambler, Mark Weldon of Philadelphia; a brother-inlaw, Charles Sanders; his god child Savannah Weldon; his nieces and nephews, Stacey, David, Carl, Alonzo, Rodney, Raheen, Tyrone, Michael, Nushai; 19 great nieces and nephews, one great-great niece, two greatgreat nephews; an uncle, Lonnie Weldon; and two aunts, Emma Weldon and Louise Weldon.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service on Saturday, Aug.4, at 10 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church, 14 North St., Ambler, PA. siewing will be from 8 to 10 a.m. at the church. She was an instructor in dance and archery at Arcadia University and Chestnut Hill College. Pat was a longtime member of the Philadelphia Archery Club and the North American chapter of The British Long Bow Society. She was also life member of the United Bowmen of Philadelphia, the oldest archery club in North America.
She was a member of Sandy Run Golf Club and participated in the women’s golf league, Bridge club, and bowling team. She was also active in numerous square and round dance clubs in the area, and was an avid environmentalist.
Relatives and friends are invited to Pat’s memorial service Thursday, Aug. 2, 10 a.m. at St. Philip-in-the Fields Episcopal Church 317 Oreland Mill Road, Oreland, Pa. Interment is in the church yard. Donations in OLHu RI flRZHUV PDy EH VHnW to the Baier Memorial Fund at St. Philip-in-the-Fields.
