George W. “Skip” Mckallip
It is with profound sadness that we announce that our friend, son, brother, and father, George W. “Skip” McKallip, passed away suddenly on June 16, 2012. He was 53 years old. Skip is survived by his wife, Kerry; daughter Madeline; son Ian; his mother, Judy McKallip; and his sisters, Diane McKallip and Suzanne Cristoforo (husband David Cristoforo). He is also survived by his nieces, Jessica McLaughlin and Ashley McLaughlin, as well as his great-niece, Alexis Lucas.
Skip was born in Philadelphia and attended Wissahickon High School and Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa. He received his law degree from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College in Oregon. He was recognized by his peers and selected in the Best Lawyers in America and Oregon Super Lawyers. Skip was a leader in many VLJnLfiFDnW DnG FRPSOHx Hnvironmental and toxic tort litigation cases in the Northwest. Skip was a tireless advocate for quality public education. His calm and pragmatic voice of reason made him a natural leader. As Grant High School Foundation president, he volunteered countless hours in support of his children’s school and all Portland’s public school students. As a friend, Skip enjoyed good times over cold pints of microbrew, poring over his NCAA picks for the latest bracket, riding bikes through Oregon’s countryside, enjoying the Oregon Coast and discovering all the wonder-
