sance said that PAL means a lot to him because of what it does for the children in the township.

“ft’s important for me to make a difference in the journey of life and what more important program can you support than one that supports kids and helps them become responsible adults?” he said.

Montgomery County Judge Cheryl Austin described sance “as the best thing that ever happened to Abington” and aistrict Attorney Risasetri cerman said that one of main reasons she came to the event was to “honor her very dear friendI lscar.”

While many guests greeted sance throughout the eveningI others were found tasting a variety of foods such as pretzels and dips from qaste of Philly Soft PretzelsI pumpkin cheesecake by qrader Joe’sI an assortment of meats and cheeses from aetz and WatsonI various water ice flavors from Rita’s Water fceI along with an assortment of pasta and pizza dishes from local restaurantsI among many other dishes.

Guests also enjoyed bidding in the live and silent auctions and playing Bail N JailI where they had the chance to bid to keep prominent community members in or out of jail.

And as guests enjoyed the festivitiesI SpidermanI Lucille BallI aorothy from “qhe Wizard of lz” and Beetle Juice look-a-likes could be spotted throughout the evening.

“qhis is the best community in America and one of the best communities for youthI because the community is here to support themI” said Abington police Chief William KellyI one of the founding members of the Abington PAL. “qhis is by far the largest crowd we have had. As you can seeI all of Abington is here and they came to see friends they haven’t seen in years and to support a great cause.”

PAL is an organization that brings kids and cops togetherI said Abington police Lt. Patrick Molloy.

Along with providing kids with the opportunity to learn about the police forceI PAL provides things like theaterI basketball and golf programs for children ages 5 to N8 years oldI along with other activities.

About NMM kids participate in the criday and Saturday programsI Molloy said.

“f like cops and always wanted to be one when f was youngerI” said N8-year-old Elantra Bell. “f’ve been a part of PAL for about eight years. ft helped me get a job volunteering with the Roslyn cire Company and has helped me be a more outspoken person.”

Reese GibbsI NMI said PAL has taught him the importance of teamwork and Megan eecklerI a NT-year-old student at Abington Senior eigh SchoolI said PAL taught her the value of friendship and having a positive attitude.

“Everyone’s so niceI” she said. “f’ve been involved in PAL for three years. ft’s a great organization.”
