Dillon lifts Jenkintown by Plumstead

The Lady Drakes continued to apply pressure after the goal, actively looking for a second. rp until about 15 minutes left, it looked like Jenkintown would get the score they were searching for and put Plumstead away for good, but the visitors had other plans.

Plumstead won corner after corner after corner within the last 10 minutes of the match, getting shots on goal off many of them. It didn’t matter, however, because Lippay and the Jenkintown defense was on point, bending but never breaking. When the whistle blew to signal the end of the game, it was relief and joy for the Lady Drakes, and disappointment for Plumstead.

“Our defense stepped up today, they marked everybody and they got the ball out of there when they needed to,” Small said. “We had a few goal line saves, I can’t say more about Claire Lippay. She had another amazing game. We’ll see what happens with this team going forward.”

Jenkintown and Plumstead will be battling it out for the division crown and a spot in districts. The Lady Drakes may have to win out, but it’s something they are up for.
