James Aaron Burkholder, 84, died on June 13, 2018 at Messiah Village of sudden cardiac arrest.

Jim was pastor of many Mennonite churches including Springs, Pittsburgh, Evanston, Perkasie, Pottstown and Bethel. He was also a member of the Lao Fellowship leadership team at Slate Hill Mennonite Church in Camp Hill, 2007-present.

Jim and Marian lived in Dillsburg, PA from 20002009. In 2010 they moved to Messiah Village in Mechanicsb­urg.

He was predecease­d by his brother John. He is survived by his wife Marian and daughters Kathleen, wife of Phil Dudero (grandchild­ren Benjamin and Genevieve); Karen, wife of James Good (grandchild­ren Michael, Sarah, Jonathan); and Kristen and domestic partner Nathan Raleigh.

Jim’s “Celebratio­n of Life” memorial service will be at Slate Hill Mennonite, 1352 Slate Hill Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011, on Saturday July 7th. There will be a time of visitation with the family beginning at 3:00 PM, with the service at 4:30 PM. After the service there will be a meal provided and a time of sharing. Jim especially requested people share stories that will make everyone smile and laugh!

Instead of flowers, contributi­ons may be made to the Lao Fellowship at Slate Hill Mennonite Church.
