Eleanor Duffy

On June 27, 2018, Eleanor Duffy passed away peacefully in Abington Hospital after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family, including her sisters Nancy Fleming, Babs (Kathy) Duffy and her brother in law Jimmy Fleming.

Eleanor was a long time resident of Ambler, Pa. She was also a very devoted member of St. Anthony’s parish in Ambler. Eleanor graduated from Little Flower High School. She was also a very proud graduate of Villanova University where she obtained both her Bachelors and Masters degrees.

For over 45 years, she was a dedicated, creative and enthusiast­ic elementary school teacher in the Catholic school system. She spent the first 20 plus years teaching at St. Matthews in Conshohock­en, Pa. The second half of her career, she was teaching at St. Phillip Neri in Lafayette Hills, Pa. Throughout her decades of teaching, she influenced many young lives.

Eleanor was predecease­d by her sister Mary Jo Kelly, brothers Michael Duffy and James Duffy.

She is survived by her sisters Nancy Fleming, Babs (Kathy) Duffy and brother in law Jimmy Fleming as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at St Anthony Padua Church, 259 Forest Ave, Ambler on Tuesday July 3, 2018. Friends and family may call after 9:30am with a funeral mass at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Anthony Church at above address.
