Gloria M. Lewis

Gloria M. Lewis (nee Koetter) passed way at her home surrounded by the love of her family on November 3, 2018. Born in Philadelphia she was the daughter of the late Henry and Marie Rhoren Koetter.

Gloria was a talented rug hooker which is known to many as a lost art of sorts which was very prevalent during colonial times. She shared her love of the craft with countless students over the years and had many museum quality pieces. Gloria was also proficient in the kitchen having cooked countless family meals over the years and she was also known for her jams, jellies, and pickles. She also shared her skills with her children. Most of all, Gloria treasured time spent with her beloved family and she will be dearly missed.

Wife of the late Ernest F. with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Loving mother of Wayne (Donna),

Also survived by four grandchildren Peter Lewis, Michele Amholt, Eric Lewis and Ashley Lewis; and her greatgrandchildren, Kayla, David, Konner, Kaidence, Jayden, Bentley, and Simon and Preceded in death by two grandchildren Kimberly Robbins and Glen Lewis. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 9:00-10:15 AM followed by her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at Queen of Peace Church, 820 North Hills Ave., Ardsley, PA 19038. Int. Whitemarsh Mem. Park, Ambler. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Montgomery County Historical Society, 1654 DeKalb Pike, Norristown, PA 19401.
