Elston, Sr., on September 16, 1962 until his passing earlier this year, in January. A family statement read: “Mom was LOVE, and family was everything for her. For many of her younger years, she lived in Greenville- where she met, fell in love with-and married the guy next door. They navigated the ups and downs of marriage and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in September 2022. For many years, mom stayed home and raised her five children, and tended to their countless friends that came through her door. Mom was incredibly proud of her grandchildren and great grandson; they were her favorite subject to talk about, and she never tired of mentioning them. Mom was well-known for her delicious homemade meals, and was famous for her pies, cheesecakes, and especially her potato salad. She was a self-taught seamstress- always mending and altering clothes, making Halloween costumes, and she even designed and sewed three of her daughters’ wedding dresses. Although she is no longer here with us, her love is eternal.”
