Vote for V845 players of the week
Online voting for the Varsity 845 football player of the week is now open. Go to RecordOnline.com/sports and vote as often as you like until 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 (no computer bot voting, please).
Nominations are pulled from reports to Varsity 845 and other sources. Players from Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties are eligible. One player per school is permitted during each regularseason week.
This week’s contest is split between 11-man and 8-man football - you can vote in both contests each time you visit.
Last week, Josh Thibodeau of Minisink Valley garnered 38 percent of the vote in the 11-man vote, beating out Frankie Shaw of Burke Catholic and Jaiden Laureano of Cornwall. Rally Cruz of Sullivan West won the 8-man vote with 58 percent of the vote, over Jacob Wright of Ellenville and Gabe Schoonmaker of Rondout Valley.
Previous winners include Latrell Willis of Warwick, Plexico Brooks of Pine Bush, Tyler Vanderpool of Cornwall, Josh Fanslau of Tri-Valley, James Gescheidle of Highland and Billy Brush of Rondout Valley.
The list is short this week because nine games were not reported to Varsity 845 by the coaches, in addition to visitor’s information for two more, as required.
The winner will be announced via X / Twiter @Varsity845. Previous winners will be ineligible for future votes until the postseason begins.
