Dale F. Shields

PINE BUSH - Dale F. Shields, 65, of Pine Bush, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 28th, 2024. Dale was born to James Malone and Gloria Vannostrand (nee Philbrook) on January 27th, 1959, in Bangor, ME. Dale worked as a tractor trailer driver and heavy equipment operator until his recent retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, computer gaming, target shooting with his grandchildren and anything that had an engine and wheels. Dale had the gift of gab and could often be found reminiscing with family and friends.

Dale is survived at home by his loving wife of 44 years, Vanessa. He is also survived by his children; Linda Forshay and her husband, Stephen, his granddaughter, Stephenie of Dingmans Ferry, PA, and his son, Ryan Shields, his wife, Candice, and their children Logan, Aibhlin and Aneira of Centralia, IL. Additionally, he is survived by sisters; Robyn Kimmons, Lorna Korth, her husband Gary, Cheryl Johnson, and her husband Ron, as well as longtime friend Scott Streichenwein. Dale was predeceased by both of his parents; Gloria and James, his sister Michelle Mori, son James “Jimmy” Shields and honorary “Dad”, Forest Carrow. Dale was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be profoundly missed by all. However, this is not “goodbye” but “see you later”. Per Dale’s wishes a private family viewing took place preceding cremation. Arrangements were made under the direction of DeWitt-Martinez Funeral Home in Pine Bush, NY.
