Trump’s silent friend

We are fortunate that so many people recognize the strong odor of mendacity that is intrinsic to Trump’s numerous tweets. This mitigates their effectiveness.

More dangerous is what I call “Trump’s silent friend” — the coronavirus. He has done his best to downplay it, punishing those scientists who bring it to the public’s attention. I think there may be a sinister motive why the White House has handled this pandemic in a crass manner.

Since we know that the elderly comprise a disproportionate number of the fatalities, their demise will save billions in Social Security benefits. Likewise, minorities are another group that have been particularly hard hit by the pandemic.

The plus side of this for Trump is that there will be fewer votes against him come November. All of this is both tragic and scary!
