Vote for Matias

-

What a breath of fresh air the next generation’s shining example of what a qualified, eager and courageous leader is. It’s time for the Vallejo City Council to consist of new blood with the right set of professional skills, fresh ideas and a passion to lead Vallejo forward.

Alex Matias is right on the mark in believing that we can’t solve current problems that were in part created by the same people on city council that helped to create them. His plan to have police sub-stations throughout the city, instead of on the waterfront, is the root system of true “neighborhood policing.” He has concerns that the new Measure G tax proposal bears alarming similarities to our current Measure B 1 percent sales tax. Measure B was intended to help pay for additional fire support, but went in large part to help pay for pensions and now the new, proposed Measure G will squeeze the most vulnerable taxpayers to pay for the same items that Measure B never did. All Vallejoans should be alarmed and should challenge City Hall management as well as current city council members who think this is such a great idea with no accountability.

Finally, he proudly calls his campaign “grass roots” and has proven that to the utmost by not seeking endorsements from the public safety unions, trade unions and special interest groups. This speaks volumes, as he states very succinctly that his customers — the residents of Vallejo — are No. 1. He believes that as a city council member, he has decision making authority and doesn’t want to appear biased or want any interference from any group or special interest that may profit from his decisions. First and foremost, he will focus on what is best for the residents and City of Vallejo.

He has many more qualities and ideas that are fresh and timely. He is young, eager, courageous and has the professional skill-set to help plan and make effective and positive changes that will impact the future of Vallejo.

District 1 voters, please vote for L. Alexander Matias. Change starts now!
