VPD nabs suspects for AR-style weapon, narcotics

Four people were detained in the early hours this weekend for suspected crimes ranging from illegal possession of a firearm to possession of narcotics.

The first stop was made at 1:42 a. m. on Sunday morning after officers spotted a vehicle speeding on Sereno Drive and running a stop sign. The police took pursuit through the city and eventually used an interventi­on technique to stop the vehicle.

Driver Terrell Elbert, 30, and Terrance Elbert, 31, both of Vallejo, were detained and their car was searched. Inside, police said they found two firearms with loaded magazines — an AR-15 style rifle and a Glock-style pistol.

Neither were registered and were illegally possessed, along with a magazine of ammo in the back seat. In addition to the guns, four Halloween masks were recovered (clown, scarecrow, ski mask, and Freddy Krueger) as well as loose marijuana were alleged to be found.

T he su sp e c t s were booked into the Solano County Jail and an investigat­ion is ongoing.

Early Monday at 2:33 a.m. officers again stopped a car after allegedly viewing it run through a stop sign at Whitney Avenue and Serpentine Drive.

urther examinatio­n revealed that the small sack contained methamphet­amine, according to VPD. A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a B.B. gun and a backpack containing more narcotics.

Passenger Wendy Wansley was also detained due to an outstandin­g arrest warrant. Both were transporte­d to the Solano County Jail.
