Pauline “Memere” Rita (Martel) Trolinder
June 29, 1933 - December 19, 2020
Pauline died peacefully in her home in American Canyon on the morning of December 19, 2020. Pauline was born in Nashua NH. to Omer H. Martel and Marie Blanche (Binette) Martel. Pauline grew up in Sanford, ME with three dearly loved sisters, Cecile, Margaret, and Rita. In 1954 Pauline married Robert H. Ricker at the Holy Family Church in Sanford ME. Robert and Pauline then had their five children, Ruby, Michael, Timothy, Janey, and John. In the late 1960’s the entire family relocated to Vallejo, CA. Pauline remarried Kennith I. Trolinder in 1971. Pauline loved being a homemaker for her husband and five children, as well as her four stepchildren. Pauline found her greatest joy in being a grandmother when her first grandson was born in 1975. To her delight, many more grandchildren were born after that; she had 25 grandchildren and 33 greatgrandchildren, with one on the way. Pauline’s greatest blessing and joy was her family. With as many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she never forgot anyone’s birthday. She would send a birthday card with their name in the paper and a birthday balloon. Pauline was known as the “rock” in the family, who showed strength, especially after her son, Timothy, passed away. As the cornerstone of the family, she stayed strong, positive, and loving to all. Pauline was very strong in her Catholic faith. It was common for her to light a candle for anyone going through hardships. Pauline has joined her sisters, Cecile (Paul) Fanjoy and Margaret (Robert) Sevigny in heaven. She has also been reunited with her son, Timothy Robert Ricker and her grandson, Jeffery Alton Bennett in heaven. Pauline is survived by her four children, Ruby (Juan) Garcia, Michael (Stephanie) Ricker, Janey Ricker (John Bearce), John Ricker, and her daughter- in-law, Susan Ricker. In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pauline is also survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Kennith I. Trolinder and her four stepchildren, Cheryl Perts, Michael Trolinder, Tanya Berry, and Mark Trolinder. Pauline was loving and caring, but with a witty sense of humor that made everyone laugh. To know her was to love her! We will miss her a great deal and will forever cherish our memories of her.
