Dale passed away peacefully at Kaiser Vallejo the evening of December 30, following several years of health issues. He was just shy of reaching 69.

Dale was born at Kaiser Vallejo to parents, Leroy Dodson and Mona Jane (neé Carmichael.) He spent much of his life in California. He graduated high school at Benicia High, where he demonstrat­ed a flair for mathematic­s, golf and pitching baseball. He spent much of his working career as a nuclear shipboard electricia­n on the backshift at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, eventually transferri­ng to Lemoore Naval Air Station, continuing to work as an electricia­n before retiring.

In life, Dale enjoyed playing scratch golf, blackjack and backgammon, working home carpentry projects, rehabbing old houses and visiting with his family. He was happiest on the golf course with his friends, beer and a cigar, or sitting at home watching golf on tv with beer and a cigar, and one of his feral rescues in his lap.

He is survived by sisters, Karon Del Valley, Kathie Johnston and Kay Webbe; wife, Kathleen Fenton and exwife Margaret Vizuet; his adult children, Sherrie Dodson and Brian Dodson; grandbabie­s, Olive Dodson and Ivy Dodson, and a host of friends and extended family. He is predecease­d by his beloved cats, Simon and Oliver, and survived by Buster, Bruce and Madison.
