Proceeds from sales go to local nonprofits

Passersby on Sonoma Boulevard on Saturday would be hardpressed to miss the festive opening of Vallejo’s newest arts collective and furniture showroom, Suite Treatments.

That’s because Velocity Arts and Entertainment was out front with magicians, burlesque dancers, snake charmers, and other circus performers who spun, waved, and dazzled out front to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Suite Treatments is a multi-faceted space for events, classes, and even weddings. Art and collectable furniture is for sale in the showroom and proceeds from sales go to local nonprofits, such as the Mira Theatre Guild and other foundations and organizations.

The space itself is vast, full of Mid-Century modern furniture, Victorian-era furniture, unique décor, and even a stage for performances. The high ceiling is trussed with wooden beams and industrial metal columns reminiscent of a Greenwich Village

loft. Huge, illuminated letters that spell “LOVE” and “BAR” (where the drinks are, natch) adorn the sides, along with artwork that says, “Do What You Love.”

The opening brought out many people, including Mayor Robert McConnell and Councilmembers Cristina Arriola and Guillermina “Mina” Diaz, all of which said they wanted to be there to support local businesses and the arts.

Principal mover behind the location is Jacque Barsotti Crosetti, who said that she wants to embrace Vallejo and create a place full of love and positivity.

“It’s a place for youth and adults to be creative, and to get paid by being creative,” she said.

Vallejo resident Jean King said she was first introduced to Crosetti in January and she has been anticipating the opening of Suite Treatments ever since.

“It has been an amazing transformation!” she said

King is an artist herself and is also a practitioner of art therapy. She hopes to lead classes there in art and poetry and to lead encounter groups.

In addition to being a venue that can be transformed into any space a renter might want, Suite Treatments also creates custom spaces wherever for people’s events. The events can be themed and contain interactive installations, ceiling treatments, accent lighting, plants (including “living walls”) and of course tons of boutique furniture.
