Benicia High football team beats Campolindo

Bethel, American Canyon both drop road games

The Benicia High School football team downed host Campolindo 35-0 on Friday in the Diablo Athletic League Foothill Division opener.

The Panthers (4-2, 1-0) led 14-0 after a quarter and 28-0 at halftime.

Quarterbac­k Tyson Wallace was 11-for-17 for 162 yards with four touchdowns. He tossed a 15-yard touchdown to Simeon Harris in the first quarter and he and Harris connected again in the second quarter for a 38-yard scoring strike. Harris had six carries for 97 yards.

Wallace tossed a 19-yard touchdown to Croix Stewart in the second quarter and a 4-yard touchdown to Janari Boone in the third quarter.

Boone had a 13-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Boone had 13 carries for 59 yards on the ground.

Campolindo won the junior varsity game 28-13.

HERCULES 28, BETHEL 8 » The Jesse Bethel High football team dropped a 28-8 road game to Hercules in Tri-County Athletic League play.

The Jaguars (3-3, 0-1) scored their touchdown in the third quarter when Kaleb Peleki took it in from two yards out. Peleki ran in the two-point conversion as well.

Hercules (3-3, 1-0) led just 6-0 at halftime and 14-8 after three before scoring two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Bethel hosts Albany at Corbus Field next Saturday.

VINTAGE 34, AMERICAN CANYON 12 » The American Canyon High football team fell to host Vintage 34-12 on Friday in a Vine Valley Athletic League contest.

The Wolves were shut out until the fourth quarter when they scored twice. Kapono Liu scored from two yards out and Liu fired a touchdown pass to James Aken for the other score. Liu had about 70 yards on the ground.

Dylan Smith led the Crushers with about 228 yards and two touchdowns. Vintage led just 15-0 at halftime before a strong second half.

American Canyon is at Justin-Siena on Friday. VALLEJO 32, RICHMOND 22 » The Vallejo High School football team beat visiting Richmond 32-22 on Friday in the Tri-County Athletic League opener at Corbus Field.

The Redhawks improved to 3-3 overall, 1-0 in league play. The Oilers dropped to 0-6 overall, 0-1 in the TCAL.

Vallejo will host St. Mary’s next Friday.

COLLEGE PARK 13, ELITE 7 » The ELITE Charter junior varsity football team dropped a tight 13-7 game to College Park of Pleasant Hill.

The Eagles are in their first year of existence.

Women’s volleyball

SOLANO 3, NAPA 1 » The Solano College women’s volleyball team defeated Napa

Valley 28-30, 25-17, 25-13, 25-23 on Friday in Bay Valley Conference play.

Dani Rydjord led the Falcons (10-11, 3-0) with 20 kills and 11 digs. She served 25for-26 with four aces. Chris Rigney Cruz added 10 kills and three aces.

Jeryn Baldonado ran the offense with 49 assists, her new personal best and a number that tied a school mark.

Mylei Moli added 10 kills and a block, and Sammy Brown chipped in nine kills and 15 digs. Kailyn Kaiser added 17 digs and three aces.

Gina Garlic chipped in five kills and a block.

Women’s Soccer

SOLANO 2, YUBA 0 » Dakota Marin scored twice as the Solano College women’s soccer team beat Yuba 2-0 on Friday in Bay Valley Conference play.

Marin scored in the 40th and 63rd minutes. Her second goal was assisted by Shane-Nicole Shepherd.

Bailey Erbland had the shutout in goal for the Falcons (5-5, 4-1), who host Merritt on Tuesday.
