American Canyon High girls basketball team beats Bethel

Trinity Billingsle­y poured in 16 points as the American Canyon High girls basketball team beat host Bethel 49-32 on Friday in nonleague play.

Billingsle­y was 6-for-12 from the field and added four 3-pointers and five rebounds for the Wolves (1-1).

Jazmine Fontilla had 19 points and four steals and Kaniya Bryant added eight boards, four assists and three steals.

American Canyon led 15-8 after a quarter and 25-13 at halftime.

The Jaguars (0-1) are at Petaluma on Monday.

Boys Basketball

Bethel 62, Armijo 56

The Bethel High School boys basketball team handled Armijo 62-56 on Friday in the season opener for both schools.

Zaire Fairley scored 17 points and Brandon Horton had 12 for the Jaguars (1-0).

The game was tied 14all after a quarter before Bethel led 40-27 at halftime.

Boys Soccer

Benicia 2, Rodriguez 1

The Benicia High boys soccer team edged Rodriguez 2-1 on Friday in nonleague play.

Rudy Autz had a goal and Aleksei Trebotich had an assist for the Panthers (2-0).

Benicia is at Armijo on Tuesday.

Women’s volleyball

Falcons at American River for postseason

The Solano College women’s volleyball team is seeded No. 12 for the upcoming Northern California State Playoffs.

The Falcons (21-11) will travel to No. 5 American River (23-6) on Tuesday for the first round. The match will start at 7 p.m.

“It will be a tough match as we lost previously to them in nonconfere­nce play, but we are up for the challenge,” said Solano head coach Darla Williams. “We have a full squad all healthy and ready to go.”

Feather River (291) is the top seed in the bracket.

Women’s Basketball

UC Santa Cruz 33, Cal Maritime 19

The Cal Maritime women’s basketball team fell to UC Santa Cruz 84-56 on Friday in nonleague play.

Kai Kraus scored 17 points on 4-for-9 shooting for the Keelhauler­s. She added three assists. Dylan Fulton added 10 rebounds.

Cal Maritime trailed just 11-9 after a quarter but 33-19 at halftime.
