Application period for Vallejo Boards and Commissions is open
Applications for a number of the City of Vallejo's Commissions are now open for Vallejo residents.
Residents are invited to submit an application and supplemental questionnaire for consideration.
The following seats are open:
• Architectural Heritage & Landmarks — (1 spot).
• Beautification Commission — (2 spots).
• Civil Service Commission — (1 spot).
• Code Enforcement Appeals — (1 spot).
• Design Review Board — (1 spot).
• Economic Vitality Commission — (4 spots).
• Human Relations Commission — (2 spots).
• McCune Collection — (2 spots).
• Planning Commission — (1 spot).
• Sister City Commission — (3 spots).
• Participatory Budget Steering Committee — (4 members / 4 alternates).
• Housing Authority Tenant Commissioner — (1 spot).
• Solano County Library Advisory Council, Vallejo Representative — (1 spot).
• Greater Vallejo Recreation District — (1 spot).
• SolTrans — (2 spots). With the exception of the Beautification, Civil Service, Human Relations, McCune Collection, and Sister City Commissions, and the Participatory Budgeting Steering Committee, all appointed members to City boards and commissions must complete and file a Statement of Economic Interests, Form 700, within 30 days of appointment. In addition, all city commission members must complete AB 1234 Ethics training and file a Certificate of Completion within 30 days of appointment to their positions.
In most instances, applicants must be residents of the City of Vallejo to be eligible for appointment. Each application link contains information and specific criteria regarding the duties of each commission. With some exceptions, appointments are typically for a term of four years.
Applications must be received no later than close of business (5 p.m.) on Friday, June 3.
In-person interviews with the city council will tentatively be scheduled starting the second week in June through the end of July. Confirmed dates will be shared with the applicants. All dates are tentative and subject to change.
To be considered for an appointment to a commission, applicants must attend the interview.
