Pafford Medical Services selects local paramedic as on-duty supervisor in areas of Saline County

Decades- long East End resident and East End fire department volunteer firefighte­r, Rodney Ashley, Paramedic is the newly named Pafford Medical Services onduty supervisor for Pafford’s 24/ 7 Saline County, 9- 1- 1 ambulance operations. Ashley has been an EMS profession­al since 1991. In his new on- duty supervisor role, he will oversee the on- time, day- to- day emergency 9- 1- 1 and nonurgent ambulance services for Pafford’s ambulance fleet. Pafford’s ambulances in Saline County cover 750 square miles including the communitie­s of Benton, Bryant, Haskell, Alexander, Shannon Hills, Traskwood, Tull, and East End.

Ashley worked through the EMS ranks becoming an EMT in 1991 and a paramedic in 1997. He retired as a Captain in the Jacksonvil­le Fire Department in 2018. He spent 32 years in the retirement system where he combined his volunteer work with the East End Fire Department with part- time paid work at Sylvan Hills Fire Department. He also worked full- time for the Benton FD until being laid off. He spent 16 years working full and parttime at Saline Memorial Hospital/ MedTran. While serving as paramedic, then clinical manager for Alleviant Health in Little Rock, Ashley was laid off due to COVID- 19 impacts.

Pafford Medical Services CEO, Jamie Pafford- Gresham says, “We are so happy to be able to welcome Rodney Ashley as our on-duty supervisor. His local knowledge and experience have already helped us make a seamless transition in Saline County.”

Ashley, an avid hunter, fisherman and dirt track driver is husband to his high school sweetheart Tonya and father to his sons John 19 and Quinn 12. John has followed his father’s footsteps by serving as a firefighte­r for Benton Fire Department.
