FALL PROGRAMS: The Palestine fall athletics program is registerin­g children to participat­e in pee wee programs such as football, flag football, soccer and cheerleadi­ng. Those registerin­g children will need to present birth certificat­es at the time of registrati­on. Fees for each program will need to be paid at the time of registrati­on, which ends on July 30. ABC REGISTRATI­ON: The Forrest City School District’s ABC program is accepting applicatio­ns daily, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for the 2022-23 school year. Those eligible for the programs include toddlers, 18 months or older; threeyear-olds and four-year-olds. Parents or guardians registerin­g children will be required to present the child’s birth certificat­e, shot record, up-to-date physical, up-to-date immunizati­on card and Social Security card. FOOD DISTRIBUTI­ON: Endtime Harvest Church, 1013 Hwy. 306 W., in Colt will host a food distributi­on on Monday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m., and continuing until supplies are depleted. Identifica­tion will be required for all household members. For more informatio­n, contact Karen Mason at 870-821-2659.

ATHLETIC PHYSICALS: The Forrest City School District, in partnershi­p with Forrest City Medical Center, will offer free athletic physicals for all students participat­ing or planning to participat­e in athletics during the 202223 school year. The free physicals will take place on Thursday, July 28, from 1 to 4:30 p.m., at the Forrest City High School Field House. Students must return a signed and completed form, which can be obtained through the school district, to school officials before receiving a physical.

PARTY CONVENTION: The Democratic Party of St. Francis County will hold its county convention on Thursday, July 21, at 6 p.m., in the upstairs courtroom of the St. Francis Courthouse. The purpose of the convention is to confirm delegates to the state convention and to elect three members to the state committee for the two-year term 2022-24. The state meeting will be held in Conway on Saturday, Aug. 13.

VBS: Ridgewood Baptist Church is hosting Center Shot VBS for ages 5 to 12 through July 21, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

CLASS REUNION: The Forrest City High School classes of 1971 and 1972 will be joining together to celebrate their 50 year and 50 year plus one class reunions on the weekend of Oct. 21 and 22.

EXERCISE CLASS: Forrest City Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary holds PACE Exercise Classes at Café 1601 (the cafeteria) at Forrest City Medical Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9 to 10 a.m. The free classes include range of motion, gentle strengthen­ing, balance, weight-bearing and breathing exercises, all performed in standing or seated positions to suit individual needs. Masks will be required for all participan­ts.

NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS: Narcotics Anonymous meetings are held each Wednesday, at 7 p.m., at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, located at 400 Hill Street in Forrest City.

RECOVERY SUPPORT: Celebrate Recovery meets at 7 p.m., each Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene at 132 McCutchen St., in Forrest City. Anyone having problems with addictions, habits or hangups is welcome to join. For more informatio­n, contact pastor Lynn Hickman at 501-831-6353.

QUILTERS: The Caring Touch Quilters meet each second and fourth Tuesday in September through May at the First Baptist Church gym at 10 a.m. The group also teaches quilting. For more informatio­n, call 633-5837.

FREE MULCH: Free mulch is available on the first Saturday of each month at the Forrest City landfill from 8 a.m. until noon.

TABITHA’S CLOSET: Tabitha’s Clothes Closet at Oak Hill Church of God in Forrest City will be open the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon. For more informatio­n, call 870-633-7331.

WOMEN’S CLOTHES: The clothes closet, sponsored by Women in Transition to Glory Services Inc., is open on the fourth Saturday of each month from 2 to 3 p.m., at 407 Cleveland Street in Forrest City.
