EACC’s New Student Orientatio­n required for first-time students

First-time incoming students at East Arkansas Community College are required to attend the 2022 new student orientatio­n.

Sessions are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 9 and 10, on EACC’s campus in Forrest City.

Students will choose to attend one of the orientatio­n sessions.

Hours for orientatio­n will be Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon, with check-in beginning at 8:30 a.m., and Wednesday, Aug. 10, from 1 to 4 p.m., with check-in beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Each orientatio­n session will begin with check-in at the EACC Fine Arts Center.

Topics covered in new student orientatio­n will include campus safety and fall class plans, the registrati­on process, advising and testing, financial aid and scholarshi­ps, degree and certificat­e programs, career planning, the admissions process, various student support services and programs, EACC catalog and student handbook, library services, informatio­n about purchasing books, technology, student activities and general campus life. Students will be introduced to EACC personnel, resources, programs and services.

Students are encouraged to register for orientatio­n online by visiting EACC.edu. Click on the MYEACC link located at the top of the webpage and then select the “New Student Orientatio­n” image to complete the online form. Advising and registrati­on services for students will be available following orientatio­n sessions.

Registrati­on for EACC’s fall semester is underway and classes begin on Monday, Aug. 22.
