Jeffery Darnell White (1959-2023)

Jeffery Darnell White was born Sept. 23, 1959, in Forrest City, to William Sherman White Sr., and Charlene White Neal.

He accepted Christ at an early age, attending Christ Episcopal Church where he was still a member and was an Acolyte in the church.

Jeffery attended Forrest City Public School and played the clarinet in the band. He graduated from Forrest City High School in 1977. After graduation, he attended the University of Arkansas at Fayettevil­le where he became a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and remained an active member.

He began his career as a school teacher in Los Angeles, Calif., and later became an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service, from where he retired.

Jeffery was very talented, very kind and compassion­ate. He loved to sing and dance. He had an outgoing and pleasant personalit­y and made a huge impact on everyone he encountere­d.

On March 19, 2023, the Lord called Jeffery home.

He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, William Sherman White Sr., and Charlene White Neal of Forrest

City; sisters, Janet Brooks of Forrest City, Carolyn White Bryant (Larry) of Conway, and Vickie Kearse (Zachary) and Belinda Dowling (Eric), all of York, Pa.; brothers, William Sherman White Jr., (Mary), of Forrest City, Thomas Neal (Virginia) of Austin, Texas, Terry Clark of York, Pa., and Ashley Bruce of Torrance, Calif.; along with nieces and nephews to include William White III, Jonathan Bryant, Jordan Bryant, India Brooks and Brandon White.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 24, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Clay Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 10 a.m., at Prosperity M.B. Church in Forrest City. Burial will follow in Casteel Cemetery.
