John Kenneth Guthrie, 83, of Forrest City, passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024.

He was born on April 16, 1940, in Trenton. John was a beloved member of his community and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

John, known to his loved ones as Kenneth, had a kind and generous spirit. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family and friends, offering his assistance with any project they needed. Kenneth’s dedication to his loved ones was truly remarkable.

In his early years, Kenneth worked on the family farm, contributi­ng his hard work and dedication from the time he was born until December of 1969. At that time, he moved to Forrest City and joined his brother, Frank, at Forrest City Refrigerat­ion and Elec. Service. Kenneth continued to maintain the business even after his brother’s retirement, up until his own retirement.

Kenneth’s devotion extended beyond his work and family life. He was a faithful member of Caldwell Baptist Church for over 50 years, finding solace and strength in his religious community.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Patty Guthrie, of the home; two sons, Scotty Henson and wife, Donna, and Steven Guthrie and wife, Tonya; three daughters, Denise Evans and husband, Rusty, Sonya Hamilton and husband, Tim, and Sandra Beshears and husband, Ronnie, along with a host of grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren who he loved and was proud of, and one sister, Ruth Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mamie Guthrie; his brothers, Herbert, Frank, William and Howard, and sisters Mildred, Alma, Faye and Jean.

Kenneth’s legacy will live on through the memories and lives he touched. His kindness, dedication and love for his family and friends will forever be cherished.

May Kenneth Guthrie rest in eternal peace, knowing he made a lasting impact on the lives of those around him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Caldwell Baptist Church, 5298 Highway 1 North, Caldwell, AR 72322.

Visitation for Kenneth began at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, at Caldwell Baptist Church and continued until the service at 11 a.m., at the church with Bro. James Fryer officiatin­g.

Burial followed at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City.
