The sun descends into the Gulf of Mexico while dolphins play in the distance and waves crash on the shore as a slight breeze forms an idyllic moment. The spectacular sunset provides a dance of rich colors that artificial lighting could never create. Stand in soft, white sand on the beach of Sanibel or Captiva as you say “I do” and have your first kiss as a married couple—a most perfect beginning of a life together.

Two beach resorts promise the celebration of a lifetime for new couples, and also for birthdays or anniversaries. Both ’Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa on Captiva and West Wind Inn on Sanibel offer a long list of services to earn your “that’s exactly how I dreamed it” approval, no matter what you are celebrating.

Whether couples plan for a private intimate wedding or one with more than 100 guests, the resorts will provide just what you need. From multiple reception sites to on-site accommodations, catering services and a variety of amenities, couples and their guests are taken care of during their entire stay.

“Our entire staff works diligently to make the wedding celebration a memorable event,” says Christine Harrower, Group Sales & Events Manager.

West Wind Inn has been a destination wedding location for close to half a century, while ’Tween Waters has been a Captiva beach wedding spot for some 89 years. Both resorts keep their promise of satisfaction from the day before rehearsal through the big day and leading into the morning after brunch.

With amenities such as pools, rental bicycles and kayaks, and a variety of restaurants, the celebration of a special occasion at either resort doesn’t end with the day-of activities. Guests who decide to extend their stay can have their plate full with island adventures on land and in water, then wind down at one of the tropical restaurants sipping on an exotic cocktail and watching the ever-beautiful sun setting in the distance.

Guests at both resorts leave with memories of a lifetime, which they often share on social media to show their appreciation and happiness. Kelly Butts-Elston had her wedding at ’Tween Waters. “The ladies at the spa were amazing, and our server Eric was incredible,” she wrote.

Another satisfied bride took to TripAdvisor to share her experience at West Wind Inn. “I can’t say enough good things,” she wrote under the username Andi F. “The hotel is impeccably clean, the staff is, without exception, friendly and welcoming, the food (from the pool bar, to Normandie’s, to the WONDERFUL buffet at the wedding) was delicious, the pool area and beach areas were clean and inviting—every single aspect exceeded our expectations.”
