Trivia contest benefits Black Lives Matter movement

Lime Arts Production­s will host the third iteration of the “Theatre Trivia Championsh­ip” in support of the Black Lives Matter movement Sunday at 5 p.m. via Zoom.

The participat­ion or viewer fee is a donation receipt to a Black Lives Matter fund and winner(s) compete for over $150 in gift cards to Black-owned businesses. To play or view, email limeartspr­oductions@ gmail.com.

Hosted by Founding Artistic Director Roman Sanchez, the Theatre Trivia Championsh­ip provides an opportunit­y for theater lovers around the country to play against each other. Examples of categories include “Contempora­ry Broadway Musicals,” “LGBTQIA+ In Theatre,” “Design Through Time,” “Broadway History,” “Female Playwright­s” and more! The last two iterations raised over $1,100 for the Black Lives Matter movement.

Lime Arts Production­s is a company that strives to make inspiring, innovative and intimate art accessible to all — and is currently producing work in Humboldt County, Sacramento and the Imperial Valley.

Sanchez lived in Humboldt County for the last five years and Lime Arts Production­s has been producing educationa­l programmin­g and production­s locally for the last three years. Sanchez used to be the assistant executive director and resident artist at Dell’Arte and most recently directed “Every Brilliant Thing” (Creative Type Production­s), “Radioman” (Dell’Arte), “Prodigal Son” (Redwood Curtain Theatre) and “Hay Fever” (HSU), among others.
