Estelle Fennell: proven leader for 2nd District

My primary experience with Supervisor Fennell has been through the Rio Dell City Council. Over the past eight years Humboldt County has faced several challenges. Those challenges include economic, environmental, governmental bureaucracies, natural disasters and most currently the COVID-19 pandemic. In the last year alone our county has faced huge issues that have affected our futures. The times that we are living in are not like any other time in the history of our county or world. This is why it is critical that we have local leaders that have and will continue to lead during these times. Her past record clearly shows those leadership skills.

Supervisor Fennel is a member of the Redwood Coast Energy Authority (RCEA) that formed a local Community Choice Energy (CCE) agency to lower local energy costs as well as secure environmentally clean energy with local sources.

She was instrumental in holding PG&E accountable to resolve the loss of power to Humboldt during last year’s Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) and as a result Humboldt did not lose power during the PSPS event that occurred earlier this year. Another area demonstrating her strong support and leadership has been the ongoing fires raging throughout our county. She has worked tirelessly with local and state agencies to keep our families and property safe.
