Grants will benefit local youth
Humboldt Sponsors, a local nonprofit, charitable organization dedicated to raising funds solely to benefit the youth of Humboldt County, has announced the 2021 grant application cycle is now open.
Nonprofit groups seeking funding assistance for programs serving local youth are invited to apply, including first-time and eligible former applicants. Grants are to be used exclusively to benefit Humboldt County children and cannot fund salaries, stipends or administrative expenses.
Humboldt Sponsors announces its new grant recipients in April each year and recognizes their valuable programs and services. This past year, Humboldt Sponsors awarded 78 individual grants to local youth-related organizations, which totaled $111,454. Since 1973, Humboldt Sponsors has distributed more than $2,500,000 in grants to benefit Humboldt County children.
These individual grants support many diverse activities and programs, such as scholarships and camperships for recreational and cultural activities, youth leadership projects and the purchase of educational, learning and play materials for children. In addition, Humboldt Sponsors’ grants have assisted youth-oriented programs that provide basic needs.
Completed 2021 grant application packets must be submitted to Humboldt Sponsors by the postmark deadline of Feb. 16 in order to qualify for consideration.
