Health center opens new site
Redwoods Rural Health Center last week began offering services from a satellite office in Fortuna. A Fortuna Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting was held at 930 S. Fortuna Blvd. on Wednesday.
“We’re delighted to fill a gap in services needed in the Fortuna Eel River Valley,” said Tina Tvedt Schaible, executive director of Redwoods Rural Health Center (RRHC). “RRHC is the only practice offering acupuncture services for Partnership Health Plan patients,” she said noting that “acupuncture treatments are beneficial for a variety of conditions for patients young and old.”
RRHC also accepts Blue Shield/Blue Cross insurance and offers income-based sliding fee discounts.
Tvedt Schaible said she is currently recruiting chiropractic providers to join the team at the Fortuna location.
Appointments for services at the Fortuna office can be made by calling 707)-3532162 or online at www.rrch. org.
Redwoods Rural Health Center was established in Redway in 1976 as a healthcare provider focused on delivering responsive, preventive, high quality primary health care services, through a variety of healing disciplines, to all people without regard to social or economic status.
“RRCH services have always encompassed holistic healthcare approaches,” Tvedt Schaible said, “including alternative modalities, such as acupuncture and chiropractic services because we understand how important they are to healing. We envision the clinic as a place where the needs of the whole person are met; body, mind, and spirit, thereby improving the health of our entire community.”
