Arcata Parks and Recreation Committee
When: Second Wednesday of every odd-numbered month at 6 p.m.

• The committee is scheduled to confirm priorities for fiscal year 2022-23 expenditures.
• The committee is scheduled to receive reports on several projects, including renovation efforts at Shay Park, Redwood Park and on recreation programs.
• The committee is scheduled to receive an update on local trails and discuss city strategies to encourage safe usage on multi-use trails.

Arcata Planning Commission
When: Second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 6 p.m.

• The Nov. 9 regular meeting commission has been canceled.
Fortuna Planning Commission
When: Second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.
Where: City Hall, 621 11th St., Fortuna. The meeting is scheduled to be broadcast on Access Humboldt.
• The commission is scheduled to elect a vice-chair.
• The commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on a lot adjustment between two large residential parcels.
• The commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing to consider approval of a minor subdivision for a 12.2-acre parcel.

Humboldt Bay Fire Joint Powers Authority
When: Second Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m.

• The board of directors is scheduled to discuss and possibly approve a COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation and Conservation District

Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District

Humboldt County Board of Supervisors
When: Every Tuesday except for the fifth Tuesday of a month at 9 a.m.

• Under its consent agenda, the board may extend the local drought emergency through Dec. 7.
• Under its consent agenda, the board may approve opting into a legal settlement related to the U.S. opioid epidemic. Last week, the cities of Arcata and Fortuna approved opting in.
• The board is scheduled to receive a presentation introducing Michael Davies-Hughes as the new county superintendent of schools.
• The board is scheduled to receive an update on the transition of payroller services from human resources to the auditor-controller’s office.

Humboldt County Human Rights Commission
When: First Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. November meeting scheduled for Nov. 11.

• The commission is scheduled to review and approve a draft letter to the county board of supervisors regarding homelessness in Humboldt County.

Trinidad City Council
When: Second (and fourth) Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.

• Under its consent agenda, the council may approve an update to its general plan.
• The council is scheduled to hold a discussion on the continued use of virtual meetings.
• The council is scheduled to hold a discussion on renewing a contract with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office for police services.
• The council is scheduled to hold a discussion on increasing its transient occupancy tax rate from 10% to 12%.
• The council is scheduled to receive an update and discuss a vacancy on its council.
