Arrogant Rodgers

- Matthew Owen resides in Eureka, and believes the First Amendment allows for free speech.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a threetime NFL MVP, Super Bowlwinning quarterback and a future firstballot Hall-ofFamer. He’s also a COVIDiot.

It all started in August when Rodgers was asked if he was vaccinated and he responded, “Yeah, I’m immunized.” His first word was “Yeah,” an affirmation to the question of whether Rodgers was vaccinated. Turns out, he wasn’t vaccinated and last week he tested positive for COVID. He had to sit out last week’s game versus the Kansas City Chiefs, which the Packers lost without Rodgers.

Then Rodgers went on Pat McAfee’s podcast and tried to play word games. He complained about the woke mob and cancel culture. Not sure what these have to do with lying about being vaccinated. He said, “I believe strongly in bodily autonomy.” I recently ran into a hippie-dippie chick in a Las Vegas casino and asked if she had a mask. She replied, “I’m a metaphysical healer.” No idea what that means. Maybe she’s dating Rodgers?

Rodgers said he had “natural immunity” with the home remedy treatments, which he touted as a superior alternative to getting vaccinated. He actually said, “This idea that it’s a pandemic of the unvaccinated, it’s just a total lie. If the vaccine is so great, then how come people are still getting COVID and spreading COVID and, unfortunately dying of COVID?” Yes, there are some breakthrough cases with the vaccinated, especially those with health issues. However, the chance of dying is 11 times higher for those unvaccinated.

Rodgers then said he’s worried about his fertility as there is no data on the long-term effects of the vaccine with a man’s fertility. True, however, there’s no long-term studies of a man’s fertility after having COVID. I can tell you with 100% certainty what happens to your fertility if you get COVID and die. Rodgers later said, “I take full responsibility for people who felt misled.” More word games and still no apologies to his teammates, coaches and fans. Now it’s our fault we felt misled, not his words.

I’m sick and tired of all the wannabes trying out for Mel Gibson’s role in “Braveheart.”

If I have to hear one more person yell, “Freedom!” as their reason for not getting vaccinated, I’m gonna puke. For the record, we all have freedom. I’ve had five vaccines this year alone. Two COVID vaccines, a COVID booster vaccine, a shingles vaccine and a tetanus vaccine. Why? Because my medical doctor advised me to. What’s your medical doctor advised you?

Unfortunately, we live in a divided nation and instead of COVID being a medical issue, it’s become a political dividing wedge, sometimes between husband and wife, parents and children and definitely in the workplace. I find it ironic that the police, fire and teachers unions were demanding to be first in line for the vaccines and now they are against vaccine mandates.

I didn’t read fake news on Facebook, listen to a Joe Rogan podcast, or watch a YouTube of Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, one of the “Disinformation Dozen,” twelve anti-vaxxer nutjobs disseminating almost 90% of the COVID falsehoods. She recently bragged about traveling through airports while experiencing COVID symptoms. Yeah, someone I definitely wanna follow. More NFL news…

It’s been a tough few weeks for the Las Vegas Raiders. First, they lost head coach Jon Gruden over some old emails that surfaced years later. Don’t worry, Gruden just sued the NFL for releasing his emails and not the other 650,000 emails. Last week, 2020 1st round draft pick, Henry Ruggs III was in a car crash at 3:39 in the morning after allegedly having 18 shots at Top Golf, then driving 156 mph down Las Vegas surface streets before hitting a SUV at a stoplight killing the driver and her dog. He was promptly cut by the Raiders and his NFL career is likely over as he’s facing not only DUI charges but also vehicular manslaughter charges. Ruggs is looking at a minimum four years in prison. Then cornerback Damon Arnette, another 2020 1st round draft pick was released this week after a video surfaced on TikTok of him holding a gun and threatening to kill someone by name. That’s the Raiders top two picks in the 2020 draft gone within seven days. Just win, baby! Or was that just whine?
