‘Share the Love’ supports local seniors
The Humboldt Senior Resource Center will be participating in the 2021 Subaru Share the Love event as a member of Meals on Wheels America — one of four national Share the Love charitable partners supported through the campaign.
Through Jan. 3, Subaru of America will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer’s choice of participating charities.
As a Hometown Charity, the Humboldt Senior Resource Center can receive an additional $250 per vehicle from McCrea Subaru when designated by the buyer.
“The Subaru Share the Love campaign has had such a positive impact on HSRC’s Senior Nutrition Program. The Senior Nutrition Program depends on community support to continue to offer the senior dining programs and Home Delivered Meals. While our meal programs have looked a little different during the pandemic, the program is still going strong and actually serving even more individuals and meals than before,” said Tasha Romo, Humboldt Senior Resource Center’s director of Nutrition and Activities.
Jason Ghera, McCrea Subaru general manager, said, “McCrea Subaru is happy to be able to support delivering more meals to local seniors in need through the Subaru Share the Love program. Our community is very lucky to have the Humboldt Senior Resource Center with access to all of the valuable services that help our seniors stay healthy and independent.”
The Humboldt Senior Resource Center has received over $21,000 from McCrea and Subaru of America in the last year alone through Share the Love event. For more information, visit www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/ sharethelove or contact Tasha Romo at 707-443-9747, ext. 1228.
