Open Studios

North Coast Open Studios will take place this Saturday and Sunday, as well as June 11 and 12, at art studios and galleries throughout the county. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Some of the participat­ing artists for 2022 include Lynn Niekrasz, Leslie Allen, Gigi Floyd, Sunni Scrivner, Richard Akers, Alice Shaw, Maria Elhardt, Zachary Shea, Sheala Dunlap and many others.

North Coast Open Studios is a DreamMaker Project of the Ink People Center for the Arts.

City garage sale

Fortuna will hold a citywide garage sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Fortuna. For more informatio­n, go to fortunadow­ntown.org.

Books for sale

Friends of the McKinleyvi­lle Library will hold a book sale Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library, 1606 Pickett Road.

Books will be available to purchase, as well as succulents. There will also be informatio­n available about the summer reading program.

This event is being held in conjunctio­n with McKinleyvi­lle’s Pony Express Days celebratio­n.

Club Triangle

Club Triangle will celebrate Pride Month with a “Drag and Burlesque Extravagan­za” on Saturday at The Big Top Tent at the Arcata Playhouse, 1251 Ninth St., Arcata. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with pre-show poets performing at 7 p.m. and the show beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Performers include Patienttze­rooo, Aiden Abet, Felix Flex and many others. Music will be provided by DJ Anya and DJ Joe-E.

Admission for this show — which is for those 18 and older — is $15. Tickets are available at www.ncrt.net.

Masks and proof of COVID-19 vaccinatio­n are required. Masks will be available at the door for those who need them.

Pride Month

Redwood Pride will host a small Pride Month event Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Arcata Plaza during Arcata Main Street’s Sunday Art Market. The event includes tabling by various organizati­ons and more.
