Fortuna driver David Henderson continued to feed his lead atop the Redwood Acres Raceway’s late models division with a major win in this weekend’s main event race.

The division leader won the 60-lap final race overcoming challenges from veteran drivers Luke Hall and Mike Doss, with Henderson gaining more distance on the pack as the remaining lap count wound down. In the end, Henderson took the checkered flag after a thrilling performance. Mike Doss finished second. Jeremy Doss placed third in the category’s main event after setting the best qualifying lap. Brandon Barnwell and Hall respectively rounded out the top five.

Jeremy Doss would go on to have the last word in both 25-lap main events in the Legends category, with the Upper Lake pilot besting Brandon White for first place after posting the best qualifying lap, clocking in at 17.586, to pace the field. Chris Lawrence finished third, with Jordon Paiment and Brent Murrell coming in fourth and fifth.

Jeremy Doss and White battled once again in the second 25-lap Legends main event, with Doss edging out his opponent once again in a race that saw the lead repeatedly change hands. In the end, Doss made it two-fortwo in the Legends main events, holding back a final maneuver from White to tighten up the space in the bottom line. Paiment improved over the previous event, moving up to a third-place finish with Murrell finishing fourth and Chris Sarvinski in fifth.

Raquel Krupa returned to the top of the podium in Bomber division racing, surging past brother Jordan Krupa to win the category’s 30-lap main event race. Raquel Krupa took a lead after a slowdown but gave up the front of the pack on a spinout moments after a restart, with Gannon Cyphers and Jordan Krupa moving ahead. Ultimately, Raquel Krupa found a way forward and took the Bombers main event.

Cyphers did manage a victory in the mini stocks main event after a heat race victory. A tight end to the mini stocks main event saw the Eureka driver in a technical showdown with experienced pilot Brian Murrell Jr., with Cyphers driving past the finish line for a clean win.

The weekend’s race day was the first time in years racing occurred during the Redwood Acres Fair.

The next race day is the Firecracker 100, scheduled for Saturday, July 9. The event will feature a fireworks show after the last race of the night.
