CIVIC CALENDAR

Editor’s note: The following is a list of the board, commission and council meetings that are scheduled in the coming week around Humboldt County.

Arcata City Council

When: First and third Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m.; special meeting at 5:15 p.m.

Where: City Hall Council Chamber: 736 F St, Arcata. The meeting can be viewed on the city’s website, the city’s YouTube page or on Access Humboldt channels.

• During the special meeting, the council will interview applicants for two openings on the Arcata Planning Commission. Later during the regular meeting, the two new members will be appointed.

• During the regular meeting, the council will consider an ordinance updating the rules of the Arcata Marsh related to overnight time restrictio­ns.

• The council will consider refunding an appeal fee for the Westwood Garden Apartments project. The council will also consider an appeal for the approval of the project.

College of the Redwoods Board of Trustees

When: First Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m.

Where: 7351 Tompkins Hill Road, Eureka

• The board will consider approval for travel in February to a new trustee orientatio­n.

• The board will receive a report from Scott Adair, the Humboldt County Economic Developmen­t director.

• The board will meet in closed session for labor negotiatio­ns and a case of employee discipline.

Eureka City Council

When: First and third Tuesdays of the month at 6 p.m.

Where: Eureka City Council chambers, 531 K Street, Eureka. The meeting can be viewed on the city’s website or Access Humboldt channels.

• The council will meet in closed session at 5 p.m. to discuss threatened litigation.

• The council will hold a public hearing on the Lundbar Hills Southwood developmen­t.

• The council will hear a report on the First Slough fish passage and habitat connectivi­ty project.

• The council will select a mayor pro-tem.

Fortuna City Council

When: First and third Monday of every month at 6 p.m.

Where: City Hall council chambers 621 11th Street, Fortuna

• The council will consider declaring an emergency related to damages from the Dec. 20 6.4-magnitude quake.

• The council will hold a second

reading of revisions to the organic waste disposal ordinance.

Humboldt County Human Rights Commission

When: First Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

Where: Humboldt County Courthouse, 825 Fifth St., Room 1A

• The board will receive a correction­al facilities liaison report.

• The board will receive reports from ad-hoc committees.

Humboldt County Planning Commission

When: First Thursday of the month at 6 p.m.

• The commission will consider conditiona­l use cannabis permits for High Grade 007 and Jesse Carnes.

McKinleyvi­lle Community Services District

When: First Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m.

• The board will announce the employee of the year.

• The board will review the five-year strategic plan.

Rio Dell City Council

When: First and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Where: Rio Dell City Hall council chambers, 675 Wildwood Ave., Rio Dell

• The council will swear in newly elected members and select a mayor and mayor pro-tem.

• The council will receive an update on the ongoing efforts to recover from the 6.4-magnitude earthquake.

• The council will hear the first reading and introducti­on on an ordinance amending the city’s cannabis business tax.
