Humboldt Sponsors hosting blood drive
Humboldt Sponsors will host its fourth annual blood drive Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Northern California Community Blood Bank, 2524 Harrison Ave., Eureka.
“This is an important way for our organization to help meet the critical blood supply needs of our local community,” said Tammy Curtis, president of Humboldt Sponsors. “We are fully committed to hosting these annual blood drives as part of our ongoing community service efforts.”
To schedule a time to donate, call Lynn McKenna, Humboldt Sponsors blood drive coordinator, at 707443-9106. Appointments may also be scheduled before the main event begins at 4 p.m., and walk-ins are welcome, beginning at 8 a.m. Light refreshments will be provided by the blood bank, as well as complimentary cookies, courtesy of Humboldt Sponsors members.
“Our goal this year is to reach 50 participating donors,” said McKenna. “Any blood donations made within a week of Feb. 1 may be counted toward Humboldt Sponsors’ blood drive. Just remember to mention Humboldt Sponsors to ensure credit for the donation.”
As a convenience, donors may also take advantage of the following blood mobile locations and times: Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cal-Poly Humboldt on the Quad, 1 Harpst St., Arcata; Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cher-Ae-Heights Casino, 27 Scenic Drive, Trinidad; Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ray’s Food Place, 2009 Main St., Fortuna; or Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Safeway, 600 F St., Arcata.
