The Old Guard

From Mad Max: Fury Road to Atomic Blonde, Charlize Theron in kick-ass mode is one of cinema’s greatest gifts. But her latest action pic needs to be swapped for something a bit more dynamic. Theron’s ancient warrior is the leader of a small band of immortal mercenaries. After their powers are exposed, the team battles a group of scientists seeking to replicate and monetize. And though it’s fab that tough females are front and center, everything behind them is drab and humorless. Even the cool fight sequences are constantly interrupted.
