EgyptAir’s tragic crash sparks security concerns

Last Thursday, EgyptAir's Flight 804 lost all communication and plummeted into the sea, taking 66 lives with it. The investigation continues to try to find out what happened.
My condolences to the friends and families of those on the plane. A tragedy is a tragedy. While we search for answers, let us not forget to pray for the healing of mankind.
John Stephen Dittmann
Just one look at the pieces of the wreckage says explosion. I find it hard to believe that a crash, even a high- impact one, with water would twist and mangle interior components, like seats, to such an extent.

It looks like someone put a small explosive device in the electronics bay that took out all of the plane’s electronics in a short time span.
A normal electrical failure will not compromise all of the plane’s electronics at the same time. No electronics means no control or communication.
Henry Huckaby
I think most bombs are designed to explode first and leave smoke after. And the fact that no terrorist group has claimed responsibility leads me to believe this might have been some sort of mechanically caused fire. Rich Barnes
Bless those families that have been left behind. Death is not easy, but traumatic death is very hard for their loved ones. The people who died in the crash were all loved and adored by their family and friends. So sad for them all. Kathleen S. Douglas

It does not influence my travel plans. However, it might influence where I travel to overseas. @BScotTanner
I could die today by walking or driving. Doesn't sway my travel plans at all. @Victoriam_ chase
I’d love to go back to Kuwait to visit my teenage home. But getting there, and back, is scarier than being on the ground. @quincy7707
Not at all. Can't live scared # Freedom @JohnPerchak
I've had to seriously reconsider trips abroad. I’m not sure if their security is as robust as the USA’s. @JJGolding0
