When in doubt, make a sports reference

House Speaker Paul Ryan used a sports reference to make his pitch to Ohio Republicans hesitant about supporting Donald Trump.

An avid Wisconsin Badgers fan, Ryan is no supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes. But he hopes Ohio’s GOP can set aside its allegiance to Gov. John Kasich, a Buckeye alum, to support Trump. “We fight each other in the conference, but when one of us goes on to the Rose Bowl, we all root for each other,” Ryan said at the delegation’s breakfast Wednesday.
