DUPONT- DOW MERGER GETS SHAREHOLDER OK

One day after DuPont’s 214th birthday, its shareholders on Wednesday approved a plan to merge the company with its former rival The Dow Chemical Co. Dow’s shareholders also voted simultaneously to approve the merger at the company’s headquarters in Midland, Mich. The merger is the first step toward Dow and DuPont combining and then splitting into three separate companies.
