THE HAPPY DAYS TRIFECTA

-

Marshall hit the jackpot in the 1970s, co- creating and writing TV comedies for ABC such as Happy Days ( 1974- 84), which featured Richie Cunningham ( Ron Howard) and Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli ( Henry Winkler). Then there were the smash spinoffs: Laverne & Shirley ( 1976- 83) and Mork & Mindy ( 1978- 82). Laverne, about buddies who worked in a Milwaukee brewery, starred his sister, Penny Marshall, and Cindy Williams; and Mork & Mindy made Robin Williams, who played an alien from the Planet Ork, a household name. The three shows and Angie were four of TV’s top 5 in the 1978- 79 season.
